With the passage of the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003 on November 5, partial birth abortions became illegal except in rare cases where they will be used only if the pregnancy were to put the mother’s life in danger. Not only is this procedure barbaric, it is nothing short of infanticide. ... Though pro-abortion activists will argue that just about every partial birth abortion is due to an unhealthy fetus or due to birth complications, the evidence that was presented to Congress proved otherwise.
Brenda Pratt Shafer, a registered nurse of thirteen years, was assigned to an abortion clinic in 1993. Since Shafer thought of herself to be “very pro-choice,” she didn’t think that being assigned to an abortion clinic would be a problem; however, what she saw in the operating room changed that.
