Recent events such as Sept 11 and the Bali bombings have drawn our attention and created fear and insecurity, and in my speech I am going to discuss how that is exactly what terrorism is all about.
I am going to talk about what exactly is terrorism? ... I will discuss some of the history of terrorism and also its future. Finally, I will finish off my talk by relating the issue of terrorism back to the play The Crucible by Arthur Miller.
So, what is terrorism? Terrorism was in very near history defined as a criminal act or threat of violence calculated to create an atmosphere of fear and alarm. One of the articles that I read had the quote “You don’t do terrorism to kill people. ... ”
The picture of terrorism that has so vividly emerged once again recently has portrayed the act of terrorism as something undertaken by crazy, mindless, or even evil people attacking the unprepared and the innocent. ...

Unfortunately there are many examples of state sponsored terrorism and America is not the only country that has taken part in such terrorism.
