Cask of Ammonitllado My Last Duchessa look at the killers in both works
The Cask of Amontillado/My Last Duchess The characters portrayed in these two works are very unique killers; they are not thrill killers who kill for kicks or for the sake of experience, paradoxically while they possess moral sentiments and seem rather normal, they have no remorse, and can commit evil acts. ... In The Cask of Amontillado, Montersor was a true example of evil, he devised a plan to lure his victim into a trap, and basically give into his own murder. ... The Duke in My Last Duchess is also a very clever character; he managed to paint a beautiful picture of the murder of the Duchess to the emissary who listened to The Duke talk about his beautiful pieces of art throughout the castle. While leading him through all the works of art he managed to slyly work in the painting of his former Duchess, he proceeded to talk about her horrifying story, even though it’s hard to see it as such right away, because of the manner in which he talks about it, with such a colorful approach.
