Defining a true hero is, a man who decides to stand up when everyone else is only thinking about it. ... Courage and bravery are two things that Beowulf has a great deal of. ... In today’s world Beowulf could be compared to Superman in that both Beowulf and Superman have these three distinct characteristics of a hero, they show strength and bravery, they stand up for what the need to do, and use there head to help them win there battles. ... In the story of Beowulf the main character which is Beowulf encounters a horrible beast that is plaguing the Danes. Beowulf is sent by his uncle Hygelac to help out the Danes. Beowulf goes to the Danish land and meets with Wrothgar the king of the land and speaks about the horrible monster. Beowulf was told that Grendel goes to the mead hall to feed.
