There have been many Supreme Court cases that have either advanced or weakened the cause of federal supremacy and given states more power. Although there are numerous cases between Federal government and the states, the two cases that seemed to be most important to the fight between the Federal Government and the state government would have to be Gibbons vs. ... This case is a great example of advancing the cause of Federal supremacy because once a state starts to try to regulate something out of their jurisdiction or enter the Federal Government’s jurisdiction, all their activity that is under uncertainty, will be terminated.
