MiguelA. Moreno DBQ The people of the us were the difference in the election of Abraham Lincoln. Up to today it is still unknown if Lincoln did actually say that he was going to stop slavery. Was Lincoln chose by the people just to abolish slavery or because the people did want him a there president. What my point of this essay is to prove that Lincoln said he was going to stop slavery and that the people chose him because he was a good person not just to use him. Twenty years before the election of Abraham Lincoln Document A he was already tired of slavery he had purpose to the congress to get rid of slavery but it was oppose because under the constitution they had no power to interact with other states rights this issue was a state problem. But the congress was really trying now to get rid of slavery in the nation?s capital District of Columbia however that was the only power and state where the congress had the right to abolish slavery.
