Race for a girl Finding a partner is a very important issue for young people. One of the best places to find someone is definitely a house party. House parties are very nice places for social gathering. However people usually do not go to parties alone. They either go with their partner or go with a number of friends. As soon as someone steps into a house party he shall become the part of a strategic game. Let us consider two friends going to a house party with the obvious goal that is to find a partner. One of them finds a girl who seems to be interested in both guys. She starts to dance toward them. One of the two friends, let him be F1, has no trouble with starting to dance with her. Although there is only one girl and F1 wants the best for himself, he does not forget about his best friend and is happy when F2 finds a girl for himself. Let us take a closer look to this given strategic situation. When the girl is interested in both guys she starts to dance toward them. Each one of the best friends can choose from two different strategies. F1 can either say negative things about his friend which is going to be in his own interest or he may say positive things that are in his friend’s interest. As said before F2 may also choose from the two options. As a consequence, the girl will either like or not like one of the friends. And it is obvious that the two friends choose the same two actions.
