In this article, we will talk about the mainly attitudes and views in American society: The American spirit of ¡§Do it yourself¡¨, and the American dream. The American believe that every cowboy can become a great man, even the president of the country. The American spirit of ¡§DIY¡¨ and the idea of gaining success by one¡¦s own efforts are now widely accepted in American. ... The poor life of the early settlers developed the American spirit of ¡§do-it-yourself¡¨, in those days they had to cut down trees in order to make farms; they had to build houses to live in, ships to buy and sell goods, and public buildings for social activities.
