Career project Electrical engineer. Electrical engineers work in a variety of different jobs, and their products are found in homes as well as in industry. For the home, electrical engineers design such things as televisions, microwaves and can openers. They often improve existing inventions. Flat vision television and cellular phones are two such improvements. In this way, electrical engineers help consumers keep up with new technology. Electrical engineers also contribute to industry. They, along with other engineers, design the most efficient and cost-effective methods for large-scale production and manufacturing. Teams of engineers work to improve a single part of a machine (for example, a motor or exhaust system) or they may redesign the machine entirely.
