WE all get a little homeless sometimes. People have very conflicting opinions when it comes to how the church views people who have AIDS. Many people believe that the Catholic Church greatly looks down upon those who are HIV- positive. This belief may be derived from the church’s perspectives on certain issues, such as premarital sex and the use of illicit drugs, found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. One would think to him/herself that if the church believes that having sex with anyone before marriage or using harmful substances is committing sin then anyone who has contracted the AIDS virus must be a great sinner and must be hated by love. Many people have these misconceptions about the kind of love the God has for all of us.
