What is equilibrium? Equilibrium refers to a “balance of forces” between two substances. There are many forms of equilibrium, such mechanical equilibrium; when it is either static or in a state of unchanging motion, and thermal equilibrium; when it is either static or motionless or in a state of unchanging motion. But in chemistry, the term chemical equilibrium comes into play. A chemical reaction is in equilibrium when there is no tendency for the quantities of reactants and products to change. ...
