Achilles and Hector are both seen as savage and fierce warriors on the battlefield,
but also compassionate and kind-hearted at the same time. There are many incidents
throughout the story that show Achilles as being a feared warrior. This is shown when
Achilles seeks revenge because of the death of his beloved companion, Patrocalus. With
fiery rage, Achilles confronts Hector. Fearful and self-doubting, Hector flees. ... He knows that he is no match for the skills and
strength that Achilles possesses during battle. Achilles continues to pursue after Hector
and eventually pierces him in the neck, the only place where his armor does not cover.
