“It’s my life, my body, and my choice.” Says Rachel Enriquez, a smoker for the last six years. She’s been smoking cigarettes since the age of 14 and sees nothing wrong continuing to do so. Her excuse is the same excuse used by many to dismiss a potentially fatal bad habit. Smokers, especially those who are young, never seem to grasp the full consequences of smoking. They think that the only ones they’re hurting are themselves, but they’re wrong. Dead wrong. Now before I explain what I mean, let me tell about how smokers hurt themselves. First off, cigarettes contain over 4,000 harmful chemicals, which I might add, are not required to be listed on the box. One of those chemicals is cyanide, or poison. In 1989 millions of cases of imported fruits were banned after a small amount of cyanide was found in two grapes.
