Eminem and The Source
All of the talk the past week has centered around the Source/Eminem_tape controversy, as the comments Em made at the tender age of 17 has resulted in allot of discussion and mixed feelings throughout the industry—particularly from fans. ... _ Unquestionably, Source Magazine (specifically Benzino) and Em do have a very personal vendetta against one another, but the location and eventual airing of these tapes seems to have given Benzino a small edge right now, as he did more to Em with the revealing of these tapes then Em has done with a diss, as no matter how bad Em continues to roast Benzino on wax, hes always going to be able to play the race card ("so what, your still a racist")---and its not like Benzino has, or would ever be able to remotely challenge Em from a lyrical perspective._ Also, for what its worth, we have learned that Benzino once enlisted a white emcee,Bawston Strangla, who openly used the n-word on his own songs, once hoping to mold him into an Eminem like character, but dropped him from Surrender Records after Eminem blew up.
