Introduction: 6000 people died last year due to lack in organ II. Preview of speech. A. The bans on stem cell research are preventing it from reaching its full potential. B. Stem cell research within a few years could potentially cure terminally ill patients. C. Stem cell research could save thousands of lives within a matter of years if government funding was made more readily available. Body: I. The bans on stem cell research are preventing it from reaching its full potential. A. The reasons the current restrictions exist. 1. The bans are there due to religious controversy over killing destroying a living being. 2. It’s considered highly unethical to kill one living being to assist another in survival.
