The Political Power of Hip-Hop
There are various kinds of music out there and hip-hop for one can be seen as the most compelling as to seeing it in political point of views. That is what this essay “The political Power of Hip-Hop,” written by Katina Stapleton tries to explain and the effects it may have on the youth who listen to this form of music. Hip-Hop’s structure of music may have emerged from the tradition of African people who had griots to tell there stories passed down generations and she explains of the way hip-hop too follows that structure. It is just a way the African American community can get there political voice out into the world about the harsh reality that exists among the people. In a way you could say that hip-hop is a way to soothe the pain and anger that comes from living in such environments, to get out to the general public the harsh reality that exists behind those cities, so it is an important aspect in this society it’s a way to speak out.
Katina Stapleton argues in her essay that the hip-hop culture is a way for the youth to act out in a political action.
