Explain why the worship you have described is important for Christians. Explain the differences between the denominations. Christians worship to glorify and praise God and Jesus Christ. Worship reinforces their beliefs and strengthens their commitments to their faith. All Christian churches share a common belief but the very manner in which they worship is a reflection of particular beliefs. The calling of the Methodist church is to respond to the Gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission. Emphasis in on the Word of God. This is reflected in the fact that the pulpit is of great importance, being placed on a raised platform and often being the focal point. Readings and lessons from the Bible, preaching and the application of Jesus’ teachings to daily, modern life is all important.
