God, Allah, Zeus, The Big Boss, The Man Upstairs, the almighty layer of waste, whose tears are the rain and whose laughter is the sunshine, He who giveth and He who taketh away, this is the entity that decides our eternal fate when we die. ... The Bible and The Koran), and the main cause of various wars and disasters, it seems strange how little we really know about God and his existence. The question of whether or not there is an afterlife is directly connected to whether or not there is a God. Though there are many varying opinions about the “proof that God exists” that give substantial evidence that, at first glance, appears to indeed prove that he/she/it exists. However, further investigation of the matter shows that the evidence is only trivial faith based “facts,” and major issues that are caused by believing in God are avoided. Such is the case with the essay written by Marylyn Adamson, “Is There a God?”
Although there are indeed millions of articles on the topic of afterlife and the existence of God, this article is written with a relatively balanced mix of good and bad points in trying to prove there is a God. ... My personal belief is that if someone going to tackle the subject of God, she better cover all the bases. ... For example, in her introduction to try to explain the difficulty of arguing God’s existence she compares believing in God to believing that astronauts walked on the moon. ... Related to the point she makes about astronauts, she has a good idea but it ends up going to Hell (pardon the pun) in the end because it is inappropriate for the subject of the article.
Despite these strategic mistakes, Marylyn takes very good approach to the beginning of the article and notes how the majority of people, no matter where they are on earth, believe in some kind of God.
