I awoke from my sleep with the a thief-stench fluttering in the air. Someone had been in my barrow. I dig at the moist earth beneath my claws, scanning everything around me to identify the missing piece. Alas! The avaricious thief had robbed me of my golden goblet! A blaze fills me, the thief shall feel a wrath unlike that of man. I will set out to find the man that dare to lay a worthless hand upon such a treasure. No man hath I disturbed for three-hundred winters, now some thief had stole my most precious of treasures. I set off into the starlit sky, following the boot-steps of the greedy gold-monger. The footsteps vanished into a deep city. I flapped my wings in fury when I found that the man had escaped. In my rage I let out a bone-chilling bellow that beamed over the kindred of Beowulf. The city below me was set aflame like an inferno of fire and brimstone, leaving nothing but ruins.
