In a well written literary work, dialogue plays a pivotal role in writing if used correctly. To improve the exchange between two characters, it is cardinal to know the rationale and techniques. Three procedures to improve dialogue are by listening to people around you, reasons for using remarks of characters, and ways to create a scene for such communications. By using dialogue, a writer can make a story more interesting and will help the work flow better. Dialogue between two characters is a type of eavesdropping for the reader. A good writer should listen and observe the way someone speaks. It is vital to not use another character from a work of literature or one’s personal voice. The reasoning for this is because a character should have his or her own distinguished voice. Ann LaMott states that, “One should never reproduce actual speech”.
