Nicole and Jen had made plans to go to Kyle’s party. The only thing standing in their way was asking Nicole’s mom if they could borrow the car for the night. Nicole: Mom? Where are you? Mom: In the kitchen, dear. Nicole: (With Jen standing right behind her) Do you and Dad have plans tonight? Mom: No, Dad isn’t feeling well, so we’re going to stay in tonight. Nicole: Can I borrow the car then? Mom: Nicole, we have gone over this over and over again. We feel you aren’t ready to drive the car by yourself yet. Nicole: Mom!! That’s not fair. Jen’s allowed to take her mom’s car. Mom: Then why don’t you take her car then? Jen: My parents are using it. Mom: Go talk to your father. Nicole: (Walking into her parent’s bedroom) Dad! Dad: What? Nicole: Mom said I can take the car tonight if it is okay with you. Dad: Are you sure she said that? Nicole: Well not exactly, she told me to go and ask you.
