In the Shakespearean play Julius Caesar, the issue of loyalty is one of great importance. There were two differing views given by Antony and Brutus. Brutus believed that Caesar’s murder had been for the good of Rome. He was more concerned with politics and the Roman government than his own friendship with Caesar. He decided that in order for the Republic to live, and not become a monarchy, Caesar’s life had to be sacrificed. Antony however, had a very different opinion. He loved his dear friend Caesar. He cared more about their friendship than Rome, so he decided that one person he loved was more important than a nation and thousands of people he did not know.
