Well, according to Webster’s dictionary a hero is the following: A man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. This is just one definition in the dictionary, but it gives a little knowledge of what a hero is supposed to be. ... A hero can essentially be anything or everything that measures up to a person’s own standards.
From baseball players to doctors, and every average Joe in between; a hero is whatever one wants him or her to be. Even though there is a distinct definition for the word “hero,” I do not believe that someone can call a particular person a hero unless his or her actions have at least passed those of Webster’s characteristics. ...
