Fad Diets are a multibillion-dollar industry that feeds off the obese populace self-consciousness in order to make a profit while providing little benefit to its consumers. Through expensive marketing used to target people’s low self- esteem, fad diet companies make massive amounts of money at the expense of people’s health. Some such fad diets like the Adkins diet, the Subway diet, and supplements such as Xanadrin and Stacker, provide varied results at the expensive cost to the consumer. Some of these diets offer quick results and “miracle” weight loss that is easily gained back, while others are even hazardous to your health.
