Those who oppose national identification cards (myself included), are deeply concerned with their infringement on our civil liberties. The danger of this type of identification is not the technology itself, but the potential misusage of the data gathered for the cards. ... No one has been able to identify any country where these cards have deterred terrorists (Davies, 2001). If terrorists could forge passports, they would have no difficulty faking I.D. cards. ...
