Time Line (a brief Time Line of the events that lead to the interent we use today) 1945- Vannevar Bush creates Memex 1960- Dough Englebart prototypes ÒoNLine SystemÓ or NLS. And the mouse is invented to suit his new technology. 1967- Andy van Dam (and piers) create the Hypertext Editing System. 1980- Tim Berners-Lee writes ÒENQUIREÓ. 1990 (Sep)- Tim BL uses the NeXT Cude and writes a global hypertext system, 1990 (Oct)- Tim makes a GUI borwser and anames it ÒWorldWideWebÓ. 1990 (Nov)- The first web server was used in the furthering of the ÒWorldWideWebÓ Project. (First web server: nxoc01.cern.ch and the first web page was http://nxoc01.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/theproject.html) 1990 (Nov)- Nicola Pollow joins in on the WWW project workin on a line-mode browser. 1990 (Dec)- Line Mode Browser and the WorldWideWeb browser/ editor are ready to be demonstrated.
