He is speaking, I believe, of the fact that the concept of God is our ultimate stumbling block, that which keeps us separated from the Divine. If one happens into a chat room dedicated to spiritual things, there is often a dialog of statements that goes something like this: God is a male. God is a female. God is both. God is neither. Now, if this was a multiple choice question, which would you pick? The point Jung is making is that any answer you pick is wrong.
