Kyoto Treaty is Unrealistic and does not Favor America

... The most recent effort to curb green house gases is the Kyoto Treaty. The Kyoto treaty was negotiated in Kyoto, Japan in 1997. The treaty’s main objective is to limit the release of carbon dioxide and other gases found to be harmful to the earths atmosphere. However, the United States government feels that the treaty’s benefits do not out way its costs. The reason for these feelings is because the Kyoto Treaty contains many flaws and aspects non beneficial to America.
During 1997, when Clinton was in office, the Kyoto Treaty did not appear to be disliked by our government. Clinton did not show any signs of objection to the treaty. The treaty required America to reduce its emissions by 2012 to 7% below its 1990 levels. ... His system would allow countries that could not meet emission standards to get credits for helping the countries who exceeded the targets.
