Leak in US Intelligence Exposed Israel Suspected

Despite the official position of the Israeli government, Israeli officials “were said to be alarmed”(7) that there might be a serious security breech with their government so they decided to continue working with Pollard in hopes of identifying the leak. US claims that Pollard asked to be paid right from the get go, so Israel contacts had to know that his actions were not authorized (9). A statement released by the US department said that the Israelis had dismantled the unit directing the actions of Jonathan Jay Pollard, a United States Navy Analyst who is suspected of stealing hundreds of classified documents. Israel is said to have returned all the documents obtained “in an unauthorized manner”(“Israelis. ... When Pollard discovered the filtering of information provided to Israel he asked his superiors about it, and he was told to “mind his own business”(1). ... He did everything in his power to restore the legal flow of information to Israel, but when all he requests were denied, he took matters into his own hands.
