On most college campuses binge drinking is a problem that affects many students. For the majority, these young adults do not even realize until it is to late that drinking has become a major problem. While many factors contribute to binge drinking among college students, the main causes are peer pressure from other students, freedom from strict parents, and stress from schoolwork. ... They think by drinking heavily and getting drunk, these new friends will think they are cool. ... Binge drinking comes into play with peer pressure because these groups go out every night and drink until they get drunk. Heavy drinking every night can be the result of binge drinking.
