The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain. In the town of St. Petersburg, which lies along the Mississippi River,Huckleberry Finnpoor boy with a drunken bum for a father, and his friend Tom Sawyer a middle class kid found a robber's stash of gold and go through adventures finding it. As a result of his adventures, Huckleberry gets a little bit of money and becomes adopted. Huckleberry Finn, the narrator of the book. Huck is the thirteen-year-old son of the local drunk of St. Petersburg, Missouri, a town on the Mississippi River. He is forced to survive on his own wits and always a bit of an outcast, Huck is smart kid and verry intelligent but uneducated, and willing to come to his own conclusions about important matters, even if these conclusions frequently contradict society's norms. Nevertheless, Huck is still a boy, and is easily influenced by others espeacially by his imaginary friend, Tom. Tom Sawyer, is Hucks imaginary friend and gives huck crazy plans that is parts of the adventures that he explores, he is everything that Huck is not. This book leads him to do stupid and crazy things. Jim, is one of household slaves. Jim is superstitious , but he is also intelligent basically the same as huckleberry, and more of an adult than anyone else in the book. Jim's thoughts of his family and his friendship with both Huck and Tom to demonstrate that humanity has nothing to do with race. Jim is a black and a runaway slave, Jim is at the mercy of almost all the others in the book, and does crazy and stupid things along with Huckleberry. The adventures are when Huck and Jim travel down the river looking for islands, and find a steamboat, then the adventure to Cairo, and the adventure to steal the King and Duke’s gold begins. In chapter 12 Huck finds a steamboat. When Huck finds the steamboat, he goes in it and starts exploring. They came in through the lab board, towards the texas. They ended up in front of the captain’s door. When they heard voices, Jim got sick and told Huck to follow him. Jim had left Huck in the boat. Huck then snuck into a little passage so he could see in the door. In the room he saw a man stretched out on the floor, tied hand and foot with two men standing above him. One had a gun, and the other had a lantern. After the two men threatened the man on the floor for a while, they both started walking over towards Huck. Huck slithered out of his spot as fast as he could. Huck then crawled in the stateroom. One of the men then told the other to follow him into the same room as Huck. Huck heard them talking about how they want to kill the man that was on the floor. The men left and Huck comes down from his hiding place and calls Jim’s name. Jim comes and Huck tells him there are two murderers on the boat.
