Gaiea’s Crusader A new nemesis has risen from the ashes of mankind, more dangerous from the World Wars I and II. It is gaining strength by the minute and has been devouring its way into every corner of the globe. To date, it has managed to seep in the water we drink, strewn in the air we breath and consume the earth we stand on. It is what David Day, I his book the “The Environmental Wars”, calls a war where the life of the whole planet is at stake. According to him, the damage caused by this “war” daily is greater than the Hiroshima bombing. I am a devout soldier who fights for the cause of the environmental movement. Yet, there was a time when my will and hope were put to the test. Peer pressure almost made me give up my devotion of caring for the earth. I was ridiculed and mocked. Even my elders expressed tehir disapproval in chasing my dream of taking up a career in environmental protection. I was embarrassed. I lost my vigor and interest to work hard for the environment’s betterment. Luckily, I came across a name, which stirred me to my senses.
