The sum of the national debt in Germany crossed the mark 2.3 trillion DM clearly in the spring 2000. Because this galactic order of magnitude towers above each human measure by far, long time hardly worried humans about this affair. That showed up for example in the spring 1996, when the television station RTL2 radiated a contribution, in which its journalists some Members of the Bundestag with the numerical expression of the German national indebtedness at that time to 1 March 1996 confronted. The expected result was not missing. Pure reading of the submitted number of?2.024.101.579.289? the selected representatives of our people will already brought into bad embarrassment. Interpretations like 2 billion or 224 billion and also billiarden (!) were offered. No miracle, even if the meaning of the 13 numbers the representatives of the people were completely unexplainable. One believed seriously to recognize therein the expenditures for the social welfare assistance or the conditions of the population of world! The actual social welfare assistance volume by the way lay in the year 1993 with scarcely 50 billion DM, and at present pierce itself on earth straight once 6 billion humans. Those are all stately numbers, which do not lie however evenly far away in the trillion-range. After the secret had been ventilated and the spoken number had been betrayed as the current national debt at a value of more than 2 trillion DM, one of the present law manufacturers, without whom no Federal Budget and therefore also no federal debt come, formulated surprises the question: ?Wem we actually owe those?? More badly than this question were certainly the answers to it. Directly some the talc Show representative of the people it were convinced that interest and repayment?der state actually? pay! In the antiquity one knew the mechanism the debt farmhand shank. Who could not pay its debts back, could sell itself into the slavery. If it would go today still as fairly too on this world as at that time, then postwar politician would have to offer itself generationenweise as slaves for the sales. But the justice fails again and again because of the hard economic facts. Nowadays probably still everywhere politicians are bought, but they are then really only usable as politicians. And that is the straight problem. Nobody can use a learned politician for the window flash or for the beautiful-mental maintenance. They prove day for day that the most useful activities are not appropriate for them. How however then is the national debt to be ever erased? Recently the sales of rights is in the discussion. The Minister of Finance hopes klammheimlich for full proceeds from the auction of telephone licenses. But even after most daring expectations the portable radio operators will make only an amount for the rights loose, which could perhaps cover an annual interest charge for the national debt.
