Amerigo Vespucci was a very famous explorer. He lived from 1454-1512. He discovered many places. This is his life: He was born and grew up in Florence, Italy. His brothers went to the University of Pisa but not him. He was one of the wealthiest people in Florence. His uncle was a priest and tutored him in Latin, math, astronomy & literature. His father (Nastagio Vespucci) died in 1483. Then, in 1492, he moved to Cadiz, Spain. He became a business agent. Then, when Columbus got back from “the New World” he didn’t believe that he went to India because of the distance around the equator.
