Mutations can be either good or bad. Some mutations can harm you while others like albino carrots are harmless. Most mutations are not beneficial though. When the environment changes mutations can sometimes prove to be good. Some mutations can even cause evolutionary changes in a species. The number of chromosomes may be lost and sections of chromosomes altered are examples of causes of mutations.
