Increase in the use of the internet, instant messaging, and television has affected how one perceives creative writing in this decade. My generation became familiar with non-print media. The standard communication differs from that of previous years. Standard rules no longer apply to this new separate language. When one uses communication on the internet, rules of grammar, composition, and sentence structure are no longer necessary. Television isn’t perceived as a form of writing, but it’s the greatest deliverance of written material. Music is another mode of expressing non-print media. These technological advances have affected our concept of what writing is. The internet in many ways has shaped my view about writing. The internet is a plethora of information. One can obtain so much material like medical records, law, and historical facts. The net has many different forms of writing. The internet makes so much available to one that reading becomes entertaining. I am a firm believer that the more one reads the better writer one will become. I think that the internet has a very positive effect on how writers of the future will write. From reading proper material of well known authors, current writers learn to write effectively. The internet also has many negative effects on writing. The internet allows people to write incorrectly. In one’s personal profile, writing isn’t proper and also isn’t corrected. If a person was in English class writing a profile, it would be proper and done with discipline.
