Dear Diary June 24 1812 Today marks the first day since me and 499,000 soldiers crossed the Russian border, in the hopes of conquering Russia. The soldiers are full of hope and are very energedic. We can now only pray to god and hope that he will grant us victory over the damn Russians. I hope the Russians will get what they deserve. If only Czar Alexander would trade with us I would have never needed to assemble an army. And now he will get what he deserves. _______________________________________________________________________ Dear Diary Sept 10 1812 We are now days walk away from the Russian capital of Moscow. My soldiers are expereincing mass hunger. They are starving, freezing, and most of the soldiers thar are still alive have already lost all faith. The battles at Smolensk and Borodino have really hurt my army number wise. When I started the expedition on the 23rd of June 1812 my army had been at greater then 499,000 soldiers, Now they hardly reach 100,000. On our way to the capital we have passed numerous burned fields and farms. Czar Alexander is burning them so we have nothing to eat and starve and save his pothetic little army.
