My Analysis
Japan would not allow any trade with foreign countries for over 200 years, but then when Commodore Perry came in to their world, with a fake note from the president of United States (though the Japanese didn’t know it was fake) and started a trading system after impressing the Japanese with America’s technology. ...
Then that started what would be a quasi friendship, Japan admired Americans technology and America wanted to take advantage of Japan’s resource.
