...sbians feel the same way. However, as I listed to all three sides of the issue and did research on both my assigned stance as well as the others, I found pros and cons to all sides. While listening to the pro-marriage side talk about accepting people and progression I could not help but think if this is the right kind of progression that I want to see in our nation. They set the example of Scandinavia and how they are progressing faster than our country morally. However I can’t help but think of their lack of laws for public nudity as well as nudity on public television and wonder if this is what we should be striving for. I believe there are many different kinds of progression and that different societies are very different as far as their culture goes. I visit Mexico multiple times each year and their culture is quite different than ours. Because it is very hot, most people do not wear shirts, even the women. Just because this is their culture there, it does not mean that we should adopt it in our nation. I also see the side to it that we should be accepting to all people and allow equal rights to everyone. Also listening to the argument of how Gay relationships are immoral. Says who? The Bible? Somehow, I always thought that freedom of religion implied the right to freedom from religion as well. The Bible has absolutely no standing in American law, and because it doesn't, no one has the right to impose rules on anyone else simply because of something they perceive to be mandated by the Bible. Not all world religions have a problem with homosexuality; many sects of Buddhism, for example, celebrate gay relationships freely and would like to have the authority to make them legal marriages.
