An example of the specialist terms used is ‘Jackson, who underwent a "blood bath" as part of the ritual’. The specialist term blood bath is not actually explained within the text, but by using common sense, the audience it is aimed at could work it out logically. 6) A lot of facts and figures are used within the article. Many of them relating to money or the ages of people mentioned. There are almost two facts or figures in each paragraph. Examples of the ways facts and figures are used are ‘have left him $240 million in debt.’ and ‘and 23 other people’. The facts that are used are all true, so the reader knows that when he relates to the money, it is not an opinion or guess. Only one image is used in the whole of the article, and this is placed at the top, next to the opening paragraph and headline. It is image of the main person involved in the article, Michael Jackson and is an up to-date picture too. The article has no stories or anecdotes, and has no quotes either from any individuals. The article goes into some detail when mentioning Michael Jackson’s money issues. The writer goes on about his debts and how they have amounted to that much.
