As many American grieved for their lost love ones and tried to make sense of the attacks on September 11, Bush decided to share with the people a dishonest and naive explanation for this catastrophe. He said that the United States had been attacked because of its love of freedom. “That America was targeted for attack he maintained because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world.” This was a petty and small-minded analysis. This was a comic-book interpretation of the event that covered up complexities and deprived Americans information crucial for developing a full understanding of the attacks. From the view in which Bush provided, it sounded like Osama bin Laden was a would-be conqueror of the world, a man who was simply motivated by irrational evil and who killed for the purpose of destroying freedom. Bush’s major tax cuts have had a major effect on society. The working class makes up seventy percent of the social class in the United States and the middle makes up about twenty nine percent.
