Furthermore, Brunei is not directly in the path of tropical storms, cyclones and typhoons that pass through the South China Sea, although it is heavily affected by tides. Such Brunei near to the equator region, it is fit to say that there are many advantages especially to the country¡¯s natural resource. In this essay I will describe some reasons that why is climate an important to natural resource in Brunei Darussalam. 2. Brunei Darussalam: Physical Geography 2.1 Brunei¡¯s Location Brunei Darussalam lies on the northwest coast of Borneo island where it faces the South China Sea. The country is located on the northwestern coast of Borneo between approximately latitude 4¢ª N and 5¢ª 5¡¯N and 114¢ª 23¡¯E and 115¢ª 22¡¯E. With a land area of 5,765 square kilometers, it shares a common border with Sarawak, an east Malaysian state, which divides Brunei Darussalam into two. The eastern part is the Temburong District of 504 sq. miles (1,304 sq. kms.), while the western portion consists of Brunei-Muara the smallest district with an area of 220 sq. miles (571 sq. kms.), Tutong District with an area of 450 sq. miles (1,166 sq. kms.), and finally the Belait District with an area of 1,052 sq. miles (2,724 sq. kms.). 3. Climate Important to Natural Resource in Brunei There are many reasons which as that climate are an important to natural resource especially in Brunei Darussalam. With hot and wet climate, country can do many activities. The activities are in such as natural vegetation, cultivation, farming, tourism and ecotourism.
