... style that emerged at the time of their new millennium from 1890-1914. It was a very decorative style of art, which was all about beauty and movement. Art Nouveau influences came from Japanese, writhing plant forms, Feathers, Ivy and women. These were all recurring motifs. There were a lot of social and historical changes at this time, which brought a lot of new materials and new machinery. This was to do with the Industrial Revolution. Other artists who are associated with Art Nouveau are: - Henri de Toulouse, Aubrey Beardlsy, Antonio Gaudi and William Morris. My favourite piece of artwork by Alphonse Mucha is “Stars” It was designed for covering an area of a room as a screen. It is a painting in four panels.
