"Animal Farm"

...a round character is Napoleon. Napoleon is a pig which takes over the farm, and never makes a significant contribution to the revolution. He never showed interest for the strength of the farm. He used all the other animals to his convenience and betrayed all of them, like Boxer, the most hardworking animal there. Boxer was an example of a static character. A static character is a character that remains the same throughout the whole movie. Boxer was the most sympathetically drawn character, and he epitomized all of the best qualities of the exploited working class. He was exploited by Napoleon and the rest of the pigs. To show the extent of the pig’s betrayal was when Boxer was haggard and tired the pigs sent him to be killed at a glue factory. A flat character is a character in the movie which had an important role in the story; however, the viewer never gets the chance to get to know them. An example of flat characters is the litter of puppies. The puppies were taken away from their mother, Jessie, and trained by Napoleon to become his own private army or secret police, a violent means by which he imposes his will on others.
