.... So the process of teaching him patience was not very easy to say the least. It took a lot patience on my part, which was not easy. At times I found myself wondering why no one ever taught me patience. But eventually after what seemed like a century, I had made no progress. I gave up, and stormed into my room angry at the whole world. That next day I did not talk to my nephew all day, and while I was on the phone with a friend that afternoon my nephew waited until I was finished talking to ask me a question. Sometimes it takes tough love... My nephew is also extremely intelligent, but strong willed. Respect was not an easy task either. The way my nephew and I interact, is that we are more like brother and sister. We fight, (verbally of course) and he does not respect me as anything more than a sister. So when I tried to get him to show me respect it was like trying to get a dead bug to jump. The respect thing never really worked out, but I am looking forward to next summer to try again. The third came to me as I saw my nephew hitting a cat outside, for apparently no reason. I’m sure every child has done this, but maybe not all were reprimanded for it. My nephew was, he had to help me clean my room, that was more like punishment to me, since he played the whole time, and told me what to clean. But I can see a huge need for compassion in this world, just look at number of murders and crimes in this world. Maybe if everyone could play while their aunts cleaned their rooms, there would be less crime. But not everyone is so lucky. One thing that is not lacking from my four year old nephew’s manner’s is love. That child is so full of love for everyone. He hugs children he doesn’t know, while nearly scar...
