What can we do to stop them?” Well you probably wouldn’t want to do anything to stop them Music has had a great influence on adolescents since before I was born. Music is a way for teenagers to express who they are and what they believe in. There are many styles of music out there but the two most influential types are rock and rap. Over the years many musicians have come out with albums such as Guns N Roses. This band has a lot of influence on teens as well as others such as Def Leppard and Led Zepplin. With all this rock music coming out parents may worrying about the influence it will have on their children. Rock music has been know to include the famous “Sex, drugs and Rock and Roll.” As soon as parents hear this they scream sex and drugs. Rock has been known to circle around these two very important subjects. Rock and Roll is on the verge of becoming the most popular style of music out there besides rap. In 1994 over fifty percent of the youth purchased rock music. The age ranged from ten to fourteen. This shows that rock has a great influence on the youth of the nation. When a band has long hair and studded belts you start to see more of the teens wearing that style too. There are many other styles out there as well that have influence on the youth such as rap and pop. If you look at the rappers with the jewelry you will start hear more jewelry jingling around the youth.
