He manages to intertwine his views on both topics into an imaginative work. The only aspect of the Inferno that I can see as being a parallel to Dante’s life is the time of the story. The beginning had stated that he was in a dark forest and had lost his way. This probably refers to some dark time in Dante’s life, where his life was at a low. It might have been during his exile.
