A stronger country will have higher debts because they have the ability to possess this debt because they have many factors that the money is invested in and so on such as stock markets and businesses. Even though the per capita income of Mexico is one-fourth of the US’s, the income distribution in Mexico remains highly unbalanced. Many political factors influence Mexico’s current state of development. Mexico’s legal system is mixture of the US’s constitutional theory and the civil law system. Mexico once was ruled by Spain for three centuries. This went on until the Mexicans revolted and fought for the freedom of Mexico. Later, Mexico became a dictatorship in which Porfirio Diaz ruled over Mexico. Diaz was a Mexican statesman before he became dictator of Mexico. To some people he was a hero of modern Mexico and to others he was just an ordinary dictator. Diaz remained in power until 1911. In his time of power, he did many bad things like, widening the gap between the rich and poor and banning the poor from the cities so that foreigners would not be left in a bad impression upon Mexico. Today dictatorship in Mexico has been removed and has been replaced by a federal republic, which pushed Mexico into a transitional state of development as apposed to its developing state when they were ruled by Diaz. . Mexico is surrounded by water on two sides, but still has major water issues. Natural fresh water resources inadequate and contaminated in north and is difficult to get to and of poor quality in central and southeast Mexico. Other problems include: widespread amounts of deforestation and erosion. The government considers all this, the insufficient amount of water, and the deforestation national security issues. Mexico has a tactical location on the Southern border of the US. It has rich resources such as petroleum, silver, copper, gold, lead, zinc, natural gas and timber Mexico’s location in close proximity to water, isn’t all positive though. Tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and hurricanes can wipe out whole cities in central and southern Mexico, killing many and leaving some with no family members surviving. These alone can not prove Mexico’s state of development though since almost every country or nation in this world has some natural disasters that are known to occur in their area. The part that does show that Mexico is transitional is that it doesn’t have as many natural disasters to worry about and Mexico has bounce back through all the damage unlike Ethiopia.
