Absolute Freedom Leads to Chaos
... that he feels higher then anyone on the island. He doesn’t ask anyone if he can be the leader and not doing that shows that he doesn’t really care about the rest of the group. “Let’s have a vote” one boy says after Jack’s comment. Even though they know that they are the only ones one the island and are free to do as they please they still want a person to take charge and want to be part of picking this person. This shows that people like order; they want the right person to take care of the group and by voting for a leader they have set up a type of democracy and brought civilization to the island. Are you the only one left?”, Ralph asks Piggy after most of the children have left to be part of Jack’s tribe. The children leaving Ralph and joining Jacks tribe shows that even though they voted Ralph as the leader they no longer care about their democracy that they created or his leaderships and goal, they know that with Jack they can hunt and play which is now more important.
