Reflections of a Philosophy as it relates to Teaching

To be a great teacher one must have energy and enthusiasm, as well as the ability to talk to and listen to children, as well as letting them know that we believe in them. We must teach children the importance of placing a high priority on critical and creative thinking and teach them to allow others to have the right to speak and be heard. Upon gaining these insights,children will learn to listen to what you have to say because you have listened to them. To be a great teacher one must have a clear idea of what to do with children, their problems, discipline, etc. The learning environment should be a place where children can learn self-discipline and a place for learning and growth, in general and a place that is safe and comfortable. Children can feel comfortable expressing their ideas and feelings. One must create a wide variety of opportunities for children to learn and grow. One must be frim, communicate openly, possess high expectations, believe in children as individuals and make their intentions known. It is also important to consider the impact that life experiences have had on each child...
